Hit Point is U’s own… sorry, who? U. Yes, instead of just ‘Dave’, in this case, it’s now U&Dave. What a stupid naming system.
Anyway, it’s their first original drama. At least it doesn’t cost $300m, like Amazon Prime’s own white elephant, Citadel. So, we have a more realistic crime to open with, as an armed robbery is carried out by men dressed as animals, who’ve stolen a Range Rover full of drugs, and with suspicius timing, since it happened during a police shift change.
The cop duo assigned to the case is Leo (Nick Blood – Twenty Twenty Six) and Bella (Saffron Hocking – Top Boy Season 3), the latter showing that it’s easy for women to pick up men, and the pair interview a potential witness, Hubble (Tuwaine Barrett – Hard Truths), who’s overweight and makes a beeline from them, but collapses along the way. Will he survive to give testimony? Or will another burger floor him?
Either way, Hit Point is completely inoffensive, but there’s zero originality, and it’s nothing to get excited about. However, there was a twist in there that I wasn’t expecting, though, although one character has good reasons for going through that.
Meanwhile, Peter Serafinowicz (How To Train Your Dragon IMAX 3D) is in a role who may or may not be on the level, but his Scouse accent is criminal 😉
As an aside, Hit Point is shot in a weird 2.25:1 aspect ratio. What the fuck is that all about??
