Hitman Agent 47 – Official Trailer #3 – Rupert Friend

hitman-agent-47 Hitman Agent 47 is a second attempt to bring the videogame franchise to the big screen following 2007’s so-so movie starring Timothy Olyphant in the lead role, and this time the assassin is portrayed by Homeland‘s Rupert Friend, and it looks good, but whether it stays close to the games… nah, let’s not even pretend it will.

And now, the third trailer has been released.

The film centers on an elite assassin who was genetically engineered from conception to be the perfect killing machine, and is known only by the last two digits on the barcode tattooed on the back of his neck. He is the culmination of decades of research and forty-six earlier Agent clones – endowing him with unprecedented strength, speed, stamina and intelligence. His latest target is a mega-corporation that plans to unlock the secret of Agent 47’s past to create an army of killers whose powers surpass even his own. Teaming up with a young woman who may hold the secret to overcoming their powerful and clandestine enemies, 47 confronts stunning revelations about his own origins and squares off in an epic battle with his deadliest foe.

Hitman Agent 47 is directed by Aleksander Bach, who has no other credits to his name, according to IMDB, is written by Kyle Ward (Machete Kills) and also stars Zachary Quinto, Ciarán Hinds, Thomas Kretschmann and Hannah Ware, and the character of Diana seems nowhere to be found. Hmm…

Hitman Agent 47‘s released date for the UK has been brought forward a single day to August 27th.
