My BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW of LUCKY on APPLE TV!

Lucky Lucky is one of those characters, who goes out drinking, then finds herself running away from cops in a casino, followed by the all-very-obvious case of “Hey, that’s her!”, before more chasing ensues.

So, no sooner has this series started than it throws in all the old tropes we’ve seen before. Oh, and when the police call out your name after you pretend to be someone else, DON’T TURN AROUND!

Oh Oh, and just taking off your baseball cap is NOT a surprise element(!)

Similarly, when pursued by the FBI, if they point a gun at her and tell her NOT to run… She easily gives them the slip, and there’s the old cliché where she’s being chased by someone, then a car jumps out at the wrong second (for the one coming after her) and she gets away. Absolute bullshit, since that person would hear the car coming!

Will she ever be captured? Well, it sometimes seems to be bad editing that seems to help her out!

But who’s she on the run from? Annette Bening (Dutton Ranch) chewing the scenery as head honcho Priscilla Matheson, to whom she owes answers, but she also takes time to share time with William Fichtner (Hypnotic), and I will see it’s fun to watch those two spar off, but but aside from that, Lucky is tedious in the extreme.

Throw in Timothy Olyphant as her Dad, John, who’s in prison – the former Agent 47 currntly also doing time in The Five Star Weekend, and if Lucky has anything, it’s that Anya Taylor-Joy (The Super Mario Galaxy Movie) is hot, and if you just want to see her run around, also with the occasional knowing wink to camera to break the fourth wall, this is the dullest thing I’ve seen all month.

This might’ve made a passable movie, but 7-episode series? I’m UNlucky to be watching this derivative tripe!

Lucky is on Apple TV from today, but isn’t yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD. If it is in future, it will be listed on the New DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and 4K releases UK page.
