My BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW of MISSED CALL on CHANNEL 5!

Missed Call Missed Call is a new Channel 5 drama which sees Sarah (Joanna ScanlanBridget Jones: Mad About The Boy) send her daughter, Katie (Emily CoatesThe Little Mermaid (2023)), off on a trip to France, but… spoiler alert… she misses a call!

Okay, well it IS 3.42am, so that’s understandable. And who phones a different country? It’ll cost a fortune!

But with reports of gunfire by the police, and one student turning up a bit ‘Pat & Mick’, of course, at the hint of any slight panic, Sarah must DROP EVERYTHING! and hot-foot it over there. WON’T SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?!!!

Yet, on the face of it, it seems although she can’t be found, pictures indicate that Katie’s just having a few too many Champagnes.

Other than that, very little happened in the opener, which is frequently the case in these Channel 5 dramas. The first episode of The Teacher Series 3 was different, as that had a strong opener, but the rest of it was where it fell apart.

In fact, the ‘Coming Up’ section at the end looks like far more is going on in the other episodes than happened in this one, so why was it drawn out to FIVE episodes?? (Yes, five, even though at the time of posting this, the My5 site only lists four)

That said, it’s quite funny to see Sarah send Katie a text, early on, only for the content to fill in very quickly indeed, despite Sarah pressing other buttons! 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks to our friends and Channel 5 for the screener prior to broadcast.

Missed Call continues tomorrow on Channel 5 at 9pm, and each night until Friday. I’ll update this review after each broadcast.

It’s not yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but when it is, it will be listed on the New DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and 4K releases UK page.

If you miss it when broadcast, you can watch the each episode after broadcast on My5.
