Mokoko on PC – The DVDfever Review – Gals Panic-style Ecchi anime

Mokoko Mokoko – Classic Qix with anime chicks!

Yes, it’s Gals Panic-style anime in an Ecchi style, which is something for which I’ve only just learned while playing this. It’s not my usual sort of game, but ones should enjoy all the meats of our cultural stew!

The game does have a premise, where you’re meant to be saving the eight girls in this game from a variety of troublemakers. In reality, each girl has 3 screens, which are games of Qix – a game that’s crazy difficult to describe, so if you want to know what it’s all about, and want to watch a video that you can check out at work without having to check if anyone’s watching over your shoulder, then check out the one at the bottom of this review.

The description for the game also says that while there are 24 bosses (levels), there are also 24 minions, 4 traps, 4 power-ups, and 2 towers along with absurd stories and dialogues… but I just saw it as a typical game of Qix, some levels being fairly easy to crack first go, and some driving me up the wall for up to 15 minutes until I completed them.

The game is just under £3, so if you want some Qix with a new slant on it, this is certainly worth checking out, as is my complete gameplay as shown in this review, but do bear in mind that it’s NSFW.

One major bugbear about this? During the levels with the first girl – and it didn’t seem to crop up again later, I’m playing a review copy, and it was very annoying how it keeps banging on at me to rate the game while I’m in the middle of playing it. By all means ask me when the game is finished, but if you keep ask him during the game, you are not going to get a favourable response! It also kept going on about in-app purchases, and how they can help me move 5 times faster… or was this the case? NO!

Like the level which pretends to be suffering from internet online glitches – for which I realised it wasn’t real, this time I was pranked! I was Gotcha’d! I was Game For A Laugh!

Thankyou to Göksan at NAISU for confirming that for the level was supposed purchases and rating, that level’s boss “is a mobile game level boss. We are doing the girl a favour for passing the level that she couldn’t on her phone. That level was for a meta game joke. Our game doesn’t have 5 star rating system, ads, or in-app purchases for 5 times faster movement. If you click the ads on top of the screen or close them, you just unlock 2 achievements. It doesn’t open up a game. Simply, it was to joke about how mobile games are.”

So, I was confused.Dom 🙂 …and you can play this game completely rest assured that there are zero in-game microtransactions.

Score: 6/10

Mokoko is out now PC.
