Mr T: I Pity The Fool! – The DVDfever Review – Netflix documentary

Mr T: I Pity The Fool! is part of Netflix’s Untold strand… but it only tells us things that are already public knowledge.

When I first heard about a documentary coming up, given how Mr T‘s now reached the grand old age of 74, I expected it to be fairly in-depth… but it’s just 45 minutes?

As such it canters through his life – first with the error that he was born Laurence Tero, when that surname was actually shortened from the original Tureaud – and had a career path from manual jobs, such as janitor and then working in a hotel, before moving on to security and bodyguarding.

But as he became more well-known, he took the ‘baddie’ role in Rocky III, which was the first one I was – and that was on a pirate VHS tape (ahem) – but aside from The A-Team, others tell us about how Mr T’s ego got too big, leading to sabotaging some money-making deals over greed. As well as him nearly quitting the aforementioned action series, after two seasons, when ratings eventually did for it.

On the plus side, we can see Mr T has a lot of time for his fans, which is great, but there’s nothing revelatory in Mr T: I Pity The Fool!

It’s not yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but when it is, it will be listed on the New DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and 4K releases UK page.
