A “data-routing issue” was what caused the website to be down between earlyTuesday morning and late Wednesday afternoon, as I’ve now been told byFasthosts.

Despite the fact that I used to work with someone on the show – 30-year-oldmodel Pete Farrar – the show is getting pretty dull and a lot of thingslook staged. Plus, the fact that it’s already been filmed and has finished,I think Big Brother will trounce it in the popularity stakes.

news page picCOMMENT: British Airways bans rude passengers…

A big thumbs up to British Airways who have become the first airlinein the UK who, from next month, will reserve the right to ban any passengerthat approaches the check-in desk and is rude to the man or woman behind thedesk.

I’m not going to say where I work – those who need to know already do – butit’s a place that deals with the public and frequently I’ll come acrosspeople who are rude – using strong language for one thing – but there is nevera time in my life that I feel it’s a necessary thing to use. I refuse totake such behaviour and whatever someone has gone through, no matter how hardyou’ve been done to in life, no matter how far below the poverty line you are, there is never an excuse for rudeness.

After watching docusoaps Airport and Airline, it’s painful tosee customers harrass the staff and they’re not able to do anything about itother than put up with it, whereas if you behave in an obscene or abusivemanner to me, the next thing you’ll see will be the exit.

news page picCOMMENT: Royal Mail strike…

I’m not religious, but “Give us this day our daily DVD!” 🙂

In some areas of London and Manchester, over 6,000 postal workers have takenpart in an unofficial strike which began and Monday and I figured would onlylast a day.

Not so, and after sending off a couple of parcels on Tuesday I came home tosee the 6 o’clock news state that as the situation worsens then post boxeswill be emptied one last time and sealed up, with no sorting of said post totake place until all of this crap is resolved.

I’m all for taking a stand when it comes to something important, but youcan’t take it to the extremes dealt out here and I call for all those onstrike to get off their backsides and back into the job so the post canbe back to normal by the weekend – after all, if they want time off to sunthemselves they’ve got the Bank Holiday Monday!

news page picRight To Reply cancellation: the culprit revealed…!

Taken from the BBC’s website for The Message, broadcast on Friday 27thApril :

WRONG TO REPLY: CHANNEL 4 ENDS VIEWERSÂ’ SHOW

Since its launch in 1982, Channel 4 has always given viewers the “Right toReply”. No more. The programme has been scrapped, and will not be replaced.

Channel 4 say the multi-channel age makes accountability shows like thisredundant. “We are increasingly discussing programmes viewers neversaw” says Channel 4Â’s Francesca OÂ’Brien, “and if people donÂ’t like somethingthey see, they can either complain to the regulator or switch over.”

I think that with the increase in channels we need MORE of these type of shows, not none!! In the words of Anne Robinson, it’s time to dump the dimwit!
