Nine Lives Kat – Inside No.9 Series 7 Episode 3 – The DVDfever Review

Nine Lives Kat
Nine Lives Kat is the third episode of Inside No.9 Series 7.

The episode centres around cop Katrina (Sophie Okonedo) who, with no milk for her Coco Pops, resorts to putting vodka on them instead.

I like that she has a cat called Kitney Spears – her previous feline being David Meowie – but less amusing for her is that she was kicked off a cop case, for sexism reasons. Now, she’s planning the interview for a missing child case. Like a number of TV cop shows, Katrina has a map drawn up at home of all the clues for the case. Taking work home? That wouldn’t be allowed, surely?

Either way, Kat has been through a lot in her time, but then something spooks her and she wakes up… Is she reliving the same day? I could see that this happens a few times, and every time, things are a little bit different, plus colleague Ezra (Steve Pemberton) is always at hand in her flat, which had me wondering why.

I’ll avoid spoilers, obviously, but safe to say, that while some elements to it are a bit daft, I wasn’t expecting the key development in this… but as for what that is, you’ll have to check it out yourself.

Inside No.9 Series 7 airs every Wednesday on BBC2 at 10pm, and is available to pre-order on DVD, ahead of the release date on June 6th.

There’s also Inside No. 9: Collector’s Edition: The Scripts: Series 1-3 in Hardcover.

After broadcast, each episode will be on the BBC iPlayer.
