Nobody’s Fool is a new Traitors-style gameshow – as that’s all the rage, these days, hosted by Danny Dyer (One Last Deal) and Emily Blutack, sorry, Emily Atack.
10 strangers are brought together to take part daily big money quizzes, with a total potential prize pot of £100,000. That quiz is played in secret, so no-one will know how well, or badly, you did, whereas outdoor challenges are played out in full.
Obviously no spoilers as to who wins what, or gets which questions/tasks right/wrong, because the point of such a show is that you WATCH it to discover the outcomes. I’ll mention a couple of the questions, though, the first sees the contestants only being allowed entry into the grounds if they look at the buttons on the gate in front of them – each labelled with a celebrity’s name – and press them in order of youngest to the oldest.
Okay, I could do that, but pressing doorbell buttons that other have pressed? Only as long as I can use my hand santiser afterwards, thankyou!
Later, it’ll get a bit ‘Weakest Link’ as each contestant has to maintain that they contributed the most each day. For whoever is deemed to have contributed the lowest, they’ll be the weakest link… goodbye.
The house also has an internal bell-per-room and a central display for them. We had a system like that in the house I lived in as a kid, but it wasn’t really required in a regular house.
And in a particular game, Emily even comments how she ‘used to put lemons down her top’. Not anymore, obviously, if a certain scene from Rivals is to go by…
However, for a question where they are asked, “Molecules of water are made up of one atom of oxygen, and two atoms of what element?”, the correct wording should be “WHICH element”, not ‘what’. Annoys me when Bradley Walsh does that on The Chase, too.
This is just a preview, so I’ll add more after the episode. However, one of the contestants – and the only one I’ve seen before – is the irritating Harry Wallop… According to my preview screeners, his age is 32? And the rest! Google states he’s 51!
Thanks to our friends at ITV for the screener prior to release.
Nobody’s Fool begins tomorrow at 9pm, and airs on Saturday, Sunday and Monday for a few weeks. Once aired, each episode will be on ITVX. However, as of the Saturday, I’ve replaced the trailer with ITV’s upload of the first episode, which is online already.
It’s not yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but when it is, it will be listed on the New DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and 4K releases UK page.
