Two Weeks In August centres around a group of thirtysomething friends who come together in a Greek house so run down that even the toilet can’t accept paper.
Everyone they meet on the island feels like one of those fake friends, who just trade pleasantries and invite you to meet up later – yet not meaning it at all.
Meanwhile, when Zoe (Jessica Raine – The Devil’s Hour) and Dan (Damien Molony – Bergerac (2025)) come to hang out with Jess (Antonia Thomas – Still Up) and Solomon (Nicholas Pinnock – Suspect Series 2), it’s a bit of a shock that they had to hire a surly, young female nanny, Lea (Florence Banks), who walks around with her top off… except on the angles of this TV broadcast, of course.
With the gorgeous landscape to check out, initially, their biggest problem seems to be cooking fish, making me wonder if the Saturday Kitchen mob are going to turn up, but as for any more, since this is a preview, I’ll add that after the broadcast.
The cast features: Jessica Raine, Damien Molony, Leila Farzad, Hugh Skinner, Antonia Thomas, and Nicholas Pinnock.
Two Weeks In August begins tomorrow night on BBC1 at 9pm. There’s two episodes on the first day, and then it’s one per week apart that.
It’s not yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but when it is, it will be listed on the New DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and 4K releases UK page.
I expect on day one, all episodes will be on BBC iPlayer.
