The countdown has started until the award winning series 24 is released to buyon DVD (RRP £44.99) and video (RRP £39.99) from Twentieth Century Fox HomeEntertainment. The groundbreaking thriller starring Kiefer Sutherland as SpecialAgent Jack Bauer is to be disclosed to the public on 19th August 2002.

With a Golden Globe(r) nomination for Best TV Series (Drama) and winning theBest Actor award for Kiefer Sutherland, 24 has taken a massive share of TV ratingsboth in the US and the UK, becoming the most talked about series of the year.Filmed in real-time and combined with split-screen scenes of simultaneous action,24 takes place hour-by-hour over 24 hours on the day of the Californian Presidentialelections.

The action starts at midnight as Jack Bauer of the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) facesthe longest day of his life. He is about to take on his toughest missions to date -to foil the assassination attempt on presidential candidate Senator David Palmer(Dennis Haysbert), and to rebuild his marriage with his wife Terri (Leslie Hope).

When their daughter Kimberly (Elisha Cuthbert) sneaks out with her best friendJanet, Terri sets out to find her with the help of the Janet’s father. In themeantime, Jack has been framed for the assassination attempt and flees the CIAagents to find the real perpetrators led by Ira Gaines (Michael Massee).

The plot thickens as revelations about Senator Palmer’s family arise and Terri’shunt for Kimberly gets more and more dangerous. Jack becomes incapacitatedand only has his mobile phone and the help of his trusted colleague at CTU NinaMyers (Sarah Clarke) to help him. Nina works undercover to provide Jack with informationabout Gaines and the wherabouts of his family.

24 will be released as a 6-DVD and 5-VHS set and features all 24 episodes, will beavailable just one day after the season’s finale on UK terrestrial TV and wellbefore the US release. Featuring cameos from Dennis Hopper as VictorDrazen and Lou Diamond Phillips as Mark DeSalvo, 24 is a frantic nail-bitingthriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat… all day long!
