Shenmue 3 Live Coverage – E3 2015 | #SaveShenmue

shenmue 3Shenmue 3 was introduced as a Kickstarter-funded forthcoming game at E3 to be released on PC and PS4, by Yu Suzuki, the creator of Shenmue.

First there was the 1999 original, and then the 2001 sequel, and now there’s a sequel to unfold the continuous story as this will be a direct sequel where the game follows Ryo Hazuki in his quest to find his father’s killer.

Yu Suzuki said he wants to make Shenmue III for all the fans and this was a fascinating way to announce it.

Following the events of Shenmue II, Ryo Hazuki has reached Guilin in search for his father’s killer, Lan Di. He meets Ling Shenhua, there, a mysterious girl who had previously appeared in his visions and dreams. After learning about the legend of her village which has foretold a united path between them, they embark on a new journey which will reveal their shared destinies.

Characters such as Ling Shenhua, and Lan Di will be returning as the main characters and the game will also feature Niao Sun as the secondary antagonist, an unseen character who had previously been hinted at through archival series concept art.

Shenmue 3 has been a long time coming as, following the release of the second game, this third entry has spent years in development hell, having been started and cancelled at least twice.

By the end of the Sony press conference, the kickstarted was already at $300,000.

Go to http://bit.ly/saveshenmue and, as I type, with 30 days to go, Shenmue III has had $2,979,920 pledged of its $2,000,000 goal. So that’s all good.
