Sony have announced at gamescom that, from today, the Playstation Vita is being dropped in price to $199/€199.
However, that equates to a UK price of approximtately £170, and that’s what the Vita has cost on Amazon before now, so is it really that big a deal? Surely a bigger cut was required? I know, when I was recently considering one, I went instead for a PS3. Better graphics, and I can record gaming footage from it too – something the Vita can’t do, whereas the PSP could.
I see, now, that Amazon are selling the Wi-fi Playstation Vita for £149, while, oddly, the 3G version is around £185, yet both versions were meant to be reduced. And I understood there was going to be a price cut on the PS3, now, but that’s actually going for more than the £139 I paid for it.
Games coming to the PS Vita shortly are ports of Fez and Velocity 2X, plus Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 2.
