Supergirl is coming!
Lucky us. Remember the film from 1984 starring Helen Slater and Peter O’Toole? I do. It was terrible.
So I’m not hugely fussed about this, as it’s just a retread of Superman, but if it’s your bag, then you may be pleased to know that Melissa Benoist was chosen for the lead role. If the name doesn’t ring a bell, then she also played Nicole (Papa!) in Whiplash, the film that rang a lot of drums.
The series also features Ben Begley, Laura Benanti, Mehcad Brooks, Robert Gant, Calista Flockhart, Dean Cain and Helen Slater (ooh, I say!), plus David Harewood… well, doesn’t everything?
