The Celebrity Traitors have been announced for 2025 on BBC1!
I’ve heard of most of them, but I don’t care for most of them…

- Claudia Winkleman has opened the castle doors to an all-star cast who are ready to play the ultimate game of deceit and betrayal. The multi-award-winning hit psychological game format The Traitors, presents a nine-part celebrity version, coming to BBC One and iPlayer this Autumn.

Since the series debuted on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in 2022, the show has established a 100% faithful audience. A breakout hit at series one, the show has seen phenomenal growth and the series three averaged at 10.3 million viewers across all 12 episodes with the launch episode reaching 10.9 million, making it the biggest unscripted series in the market (since ITV’s I’m a Celebrity in 2022) and the biggest unscripted series for 16-34s (2.3M), and with half of its viewing coming from iPlayer. The Traitors continues to be the biggest new Entertainment brand in the market for 16-34s.
The Traitors has also earned a raft of awards including the BAFTA TV Award for Best Reality & Constructed Factual, the NTA for Reality Competition, the RTS award for Entertainment and the Broadcasting Press Guild Award for Best Entertainment Programme. Whilst Claudia Winkleman won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Entertainment Performance and the RTS award for Entertainment Performance and the Edinburgh TV Festival Variety Outstanding Achievement Award.
The Celebrity Traitors (9×60) is produced by Studio Lambert Scotland for BBC One and BBC iPlayer, and has been commissioned by Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment Commissioning for the BBC. The executive producers for Studio Lambert Scotland are Mike Cotton, Sarah Fay, Katy Fox and Lewis Thurlow and Production Executives are Lynette Woods-Reynolds and Gemma Scholes. The Commissioning Editors for the BBC are Neil McCallum and Syeda Irtizaali.
Created in the Netherlands by IDTV, an All3Media company, The Traitors (Dutch title: De Verraders) was created and developed by IDTV and POSVIDEO, in cooperation with RTL Creative Unit.
The Traitors format was further developed with the RTL Creative Unit and originally produced by IDTV for RTL4. All3Media International is global partner for The Traitors and handles format and tape sales worldwide. Studio Lambert is part of All3Media.
The celebrities will play the ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust, in the hope of winning a cash prize up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice.
Ms Winkleman says: “We’re incredibly lucky these brilliant people have said yes. I’d love to say we’ll take it easy on them and they’ll just wander round the castle and eat toast for a couple of weeks but that would be a lie.”
