My BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW of THE HONESTY BOX!

Honesty Box The Honesty Box is a new dating show where it’s time for some honesty… allegedly.

However, I felt like it was getting a little TOO honest at first, when everyone starts shouting at each other, then everyone starts crying more than Ncuti Gatwa in Doctor Who, only men get their nipples out, they all look like a TOWIE escapee, and have weird names like Jessie May, Chantelle and Mandini.

Certainly not much honesty in that last bit!

Same when one of them babbles about “believing in God“, leading their match to claim, “Oh, yes, I do as well“. Erm… doubt.

As it begins, they have to be matched with someone. Well, as long as that’d be Jennifer Aniston, that’s fine with me.

However, I was a bit concerned when, as they all chat near the start of the show, some women rub their noses as they talk to each other, as if they’re either tipping the nod to each other, or they’ve just done a line of coke in the bathroom. Your guess is as good as mine.

For three of them in the first episode, as they go into the Diary Room… I mean, Honesty Box, there’s £1000 on offer for the Truetopia trust fund, as long as they don’t lie when answering questions. As long as those selected on the day are honest, they’ll get the cash. If the powers that be suss out that they are lying, no money for them!

At the end, they then have to vote on whose honesty box to open, in order to find out whether or not they were lying. In other words, the chosen person will be revealed as to whether they told the truth in there, or talked out of their backside.

If I could’ve asked a question, it would’ve been to quiz most of them about why they have random, silly tattoos all over the place!

No spoilers from me, though, and while this isn’t the greatest way of spending an hour of your life, it’s better than watching BBC1 flog Death In Paradise back into an overdue grave.

It’s also hosted by Vicky Pattinson, who came to the fore with Geordie Shore, and somehow requires a “Sincerity Coach” – in the form of Lucinda Light – who was anything BUT sincere!

Thanks to our friends at Channel 4 for the screener prior to release.

Honesty Box continues tomorrow night on E4 at 9pm, and is broadcast each Monday, Tuesday and Weds at 9pm. At the time of posting, the first three episodes are on All 4, with more to be added in due course.

It’s unlikely to be available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but if it is, it will be listed on the New DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and 4K releases UK page.
