The Teacher Series 2 – or Teacher 2: Electric Boogaloo, as I might call it – is a separate story from Sheridan Smith’s situation in 2022, which concluded in the most ridiculous and cliched manner possible. So, think of this as the Marvel Teacher Universe, or something.
If you go down in the woods, today, you might see with Kara Tointon – late of this parish, with the similiarly daft Too Good To Be True – as Dani Oxley, going away with her school for a trip that, after the first episode, seems to amount to nothing more than sitting in a kayak for the afternoon.
That said – and presumably due to health and safety – no-one even dips their toe in the water, instead, standing about doing very little because teachers Dani and Jimmy Spencer (Will Mellor – Mr Bates Vs The Post Office) are away having some hanky panky.
Still, since Dani’s married to The Tower‘s Emmett J Scanlan (also late of this parish with The Deceived), it’s time for someone else to the bad guy on the tellybox.
I’m posting this after the episode has aired, but so far, not a lot’s happened so far that we didn’t get from the trailer, since Channel 5 dramas rarely give much away in the opener, so we already know that one of the kids, Zac (Cal O’Driscoll), doesn’t need to learn any lines for episode 2, because he turns up brown bread.
Meanwhile, someone’s taken a screnshot of Dani and Jimmy doing the do – the picture used in the trailer being a truncated version of what ends up in the programme – and there’s no way he’d be doing that without taking his trousers off. They’d just be too restrictive.
Thanks to our friends at Channel 5 for the screener for episode 1 prior to broadcast. All subsequent episode discussion will take place after each one has aired live.
