The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox… well, since she was eventually found innocent, what’s twisted about it?
Anyhoo, in 2009, Amanda Knox (portrayed here by Grace Van Patten – Nine Perfect Strangers) was convicted of the murder of her roommate, Meredith Kercher (Rhianne Barreto – No Escape (2023)), later having the conviction overturned in 2011.
In 2022, Amanda Knox went back to where it all began… although if I’d been in that position, NO WAY would I have gone back there!
Back in the day, she was known as ‘Foxy Knoxy’, because she was hot back then, but given what was happening, you’d think twice about dating her!
She and Meredith used to be great friends, but around halfway through the opener, a simple suspected break-in actually turns out to lead to the latter having been brutally murdered. Cue a really dragged out story with a lot of people shouting at each other in Italian all the time, and it feels like the police just want to force a conviction, so they can wrap it up and go home for some pizza.
And, who asked for a dramatised version of her life – and almost 20 years after it all happened?
Oh, but true crime sells, because so many ghouls want to watch it, and there’s 8 episodes for them to get stuck into, with the series coming almost a year after it premiered in the USA on Hulu.
The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox begins tonight at 9pm, and airs with two episodes each week on Friday night. It’s available to watch on ITVX.
It’s not yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but when it is, it will be listed on the New DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and 4K releases UK page.
