My BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW of ANN DROID on BBC1!

Ann Droid Ann Droid… where pensioner Sue (Sue JohnstonFackham Hall) is in need of assistance round the house, now that her time in hospital is coming to an end, and since every man and his dog is getting a robot to help out – which even includes a Rylan option, Sue’s next in line.

Diane Morgan hasn’t been funny for a VERY long time, and from the trailer, now she’s in a BBC1 sitcom that looks as challenging as Andy Millman’s When The Whistle Blows

Unfortunately, when you watch the end result, the facts remain the same.

Even before she arrives, there’s a stupid side ‘joke’ about eating food that’s fallen on the floor, which has “got bits of plate in it“. REALLY?! Who would actually do that? It’s not even funny, and just typical ‘forced comedy’ for a BBC1 sitcom.

At least Humans made their ‘robots’ look like actual robots. Here, no-one’s trying, and it almost makes you wish the episode would segue into Mrs Brown’s Boys.

Still, given the Ann Droid title, at least Morgan’s robot is calling Ann, right? No, Linda. There is no character called Ann in this. What’s all that about?

And despite being a ruthless killer in Utopia, after the likes of Motherland and this where he plays Sue’s son, I’ve never seen Paul Ready look so cucked.

Ann Droid begins today on BBC1 at 9.30pm, and is already on BBC iPlayer.

It’s not yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but when it is, it will be listed on the New DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and 4K releases UK page.
