I’m a massive fan of Frank Sidebottom and I was present at the unveiling of his fantastic statue in Timperley back in October , but what I’ve seen so far about this film doesn’t fill me with any kind of conference.
The comedy is directed by Lenny Abrahamson and sees Michael Fassbender wearing an oversized Frank Sidebottom mask. He and his sidekick Clara (Maggie Gyllenhaal) become the inspiration for struggling musician Jon (Domhnall Gleeson).
The clip is baffling as hell and I can’t begin to imagine what on earth is the thought process behind it all.
I know I’ll end up seeing the film, but for those at the Sundance Film Festival, it premiered there today, while it’s released in the UK on May 2nd.
