Dune 2020 – Trailer 1 – Film delayed until Oct 1st 2021

Dune 2020 Dune 2020 is a new feature adaptation of Frank Herbert‘s science fiction novel, about the son of a noble family entrusted with the protection of the most valuable asset and most vital element in the galaxy. David Lynch released his vision in 1984, starring Kyle Maclachlan, but this one comes from director Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner 2049).

Naturally, I’ve no idea what’s actually going on in the trailer, but from what I have seen of the original movie, I remember the creature that looks like a small dog’s puckered anus… or was that one of the Star Wars films?

Dune 2020 is now due for release on October 1st 2021, but given how Tenet has underperformed due to social distancing and lots of people not wanting to go back into the cinemas, I knew Warner Bros would want to delay this until sometime next year, and the same goes for Wonder Woman 1984. The Batman has also been pushed back and to March 12th 2022.

Screenplay: Jon Spaihts, Denis Villeneuve, Eric Roth
Stars: Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Timothée Chalamet, Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista, David Dastmalchian, Josh Brolin, Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgård, Javier Bardem, Charlotte Rampling
