E3 2013 Sony Playstation 4 Press Conference – The DVDfever overview

Lush graphics aplenty were on display in a trailer for Final Fantasy XV, described as “The legend meets its match”, followed by a Disney teaser for Kingdom Hearts 3, which is now in development. Final Fantasy XIV was also described as being exclusive to PS3 and PS4.

Next up: Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and the game demo was show, played by the game’s producer. Set in The West Indies, September 1717, with some slight teething problems, but looking richly detailed and a definite one-to-watch for me. This was particular great when Kenway performed double-takedowns on the bad guys. Unfortunately, it broke down after a few minutes.

Watch_Dogs (above) gave us an action adventure with driving that’s mostly in over-the-shoulder third-person, and the PS4 title will include an exclusive additional hour of gameplay as well as an outfit for Aiden Pierce.

Basketball fans can *be* Lebron James in NBA 2K14, while RPG fans will enjoy The Elder Scrolls Online, with a Beta that is originally exclusive to PS4. But then came the character you’ve wanted to be for 30 years… Mad Max! It was just a teaser, but I’m very much looking forward to that. The Road Warrior Survival Kit, in this game, will be exclusive to PS4.

Saving one of the biggest for last, came a forthcoming game from Bungie and Activision: Destiny, a first-person shooter set on Earth many years from now, in a post-apocalyptic landscape. It looks great fun with superb graphics but doesn’t exactly break new ground.
