Edie – released on digital September 17th; Blu-ray and DVD October 29th

Edie
strong>Edie, aka Edith Moore, is the titular 83 year old lady portrayed by Sheila Hancock, who believes that it is never too late, so she packs an old camping bag, leaves her life behind and embarks on an adventure she never got to have – climbing the imposing Mount Suilven in Scotland, which brings into play the stunning backdrop of the Scottish Highlands.

This all comes in the aftermath of her controlling husband’s death, in order to overcome a lifetime of bitterness and regret, and allows her to capture a little of the magic she had as a young girl by climbing a Scottish mountain. Against her daughter’s wishes, she heads to Scotland and employs Jonny (Kevin GuthrieDunkirk) to help her prepare for the gruelling climb ahead – which sparks an unusual friendship.

Edie received its World Premiere at the 2017 Edinburgh International Film Festival, where it was also nominated for the prestigious Michael Powell Award, and based on the trailer, it does look pretty good so I definitely want to check this out.

Edie is available as a digital download from next Monday, September 17th, and then on Blu-ray and DVD on October 29th.

Director: Simon Hunter
