ITV Encore is a new ITV channel which is due to be launched on June 9th and states it will carry the best of British drama.
Based on the trailer, this looks like it’ll be packed full of programmes like Broadchurch, Downtown Abbey, The Widower, DCI Banks and so on. However, ITV Encore will be behind the Sky pay-wall, so if you want to watch these shows then you’ll need to be a subscriber to Sky.
I can’t see it being a massive success as this sort of stuff tends to get repeats on ITV3 anyway, so it’s just going to recycle a lot of what is already shown.
