Lip Service – Inside No.9 Series 6 Episode 3 – The DVDfever Review

Lip Service
Lip Service is the third episode of Inside No.9 Series 6.

Felix (Steve Pemberton) is keeping a watchful eye on house No.9, like a surveillance expert, and has taken his place in a very rundown hotel room (number 612, which adds up to 9 – in case you didn’t spot that). He suspects his wife of having an affair with someone famous.

He’s illicited the services of Iris (Sian Clifford), who can spy whilst reading the lips of his wife and anyone she speaks to, and relate back to him everything that’s happening.

Meanwhile, Reece Shearsmith plays nosey hotel manager Eric, but without giving spoilers, this episode had some intrigue, initially, as to how it would turn out, but it didn’t really go anywhere until the final moments. t’s the kind of thing you’d exprct to come together at the end, but it was just silly, and rather a let-down overall.

Maybe there’s something more to it than I could tell, but I don’t think so. If you do, let me know in the comments below.

Inside No.9 Series 6 is available to pre-order on DVD, ahead of the release date on June 21st, but there’s no Blu-ray listed yet, nor even for Series 5.

There’s also Inside No. 9: Collector’s Edition: The Scripts: Series 1-3 in Hardcover.

After broadcast, each episode will be on the BBC iPlayer.
