Superintelligence seemed like a reasonable idea at first, when an all-powerful AI chooses to study the most average person on Earth, Carol Peters (Melissa McCarthy), in the lead-up to Christmas. Sadly, the voice (and face, for some reason) is the godawful James Corden.
I really have no idea what makes anyone in Hollywood or TV or wherever… thinks that James Corden has any talent whatsoever. What on earth is going on in the minds of people who hire him? Has he got some hidden photographs of someone high up, such is his need to appear everywhere? The pain will also continue with the forthcoming The Prom, on Netflix, released on the same day as this film is in the UK.
Also caught up in this mess are Bobby Cannavale, Brian Tyree Henry, Ben Falcone and Total Recall‘s Rachel Ticotin. Haven’t seen her for a while in anything.
Superintelligence is released in the UK from Friday December 11th.
