The X-Files Trailer – Channel 5 – early February 2016

The X-Files is returning to TV screens soon, with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, and, for all its success, I never actually got into it back in the day. I haven’t got time to catch up with 9 seasons and two movies in such a short space of time, however.

The series also stars Mitch Pileggi, Robbie Amell, Joel McHale, Andrew Morgado and William B Davis as the Smoking Man.

The first episode, My Struggle, reintroduces “The X-Files” and reunites the leading Agents after the collapse of their relationship when Mulder is engaged by a TV host. Mulder proclaims new evidence that alien abductions have been faked, and he sets about getting the band back together… so to speak.

The X-Files begins again in the US on January 24th, while it starts on Channel 5 in “early February”, and it’s always a shame when Channel 5 get the imports. Like ITV, they haven’t bothered to invest in audio equipment that gives a Dolby Digital 5.1 signal – rather essential for sci-fi, especially. And even worse, they actually turned down the chance to be on Freeview in HD, so we just get crappy standard definition. It’s such a terrible channel.

But like I said, it’s showing in the US on January 24th…
