Doctor Who Series 8 is due to start on BBC1 in August this year, with Peter Capaldi (right, with Jenna Coleman) having taken over from Matt Smith as The Doctor, and four new pictures have been released.
As before, Steven Moffat remains the creative head of the show and has labelled Capaldi’s Doctor as an “old beast” compared to Smith’s “puppy dog”. Jenna Coleman will return as Clara, with old favourites also returning including the Doctor’s allies Vastra (Neve McIntosh), Jenny (Catrin Stewart) and Strax (Dan Starkey).
As previously announced, the first two episodes in series 8 will be directed by Ben Wheatley (A Field in England, Sightseers, Kill List).
