Dark Phoenix – Final Trailer – Sophie Turner

X-Men: Dark Phoenix
Dark Phoenix now has a ‘Final’ trailer and… since seeing Trailer No.2, last time, and after watching X-Men: Apocalypse again last weekend on Channel 4, this new film just looks sooooooooooo familiar. Have they actually done anything new?

Just a case of blowing everything up, and then you know they’ll be fine afterwards by the time the credits roll.

The release date has moved forward again, to June 5th, which is a Wednesday.

March 5th:

Dark Phoenix is simply how X-Men: Dark Phoenix was previously known, and now has a second trailer.

The release date is now June 7th.

Sept 27th 2018:

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is coming next year and… hey, wasn’t it meant to be out this year? Yes, but it got delayed until 2019, along with The New Mutants, which is now due out on August 2nd next year. That’s better than the rumour that both films were getting cancelled.

Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) begins to develop incredible powers that corrupt and turn her into a Dark Phoenix. Now the X-Men will have to decide if the life of a team member is worth more than all the people living in the world.

The new trailer looks pretty solid for another X-Men spin-off, and has all the usual cast members, and I’ll certainly look forward to this one.

Also, this looks like it could be Hans Zimmer‘s final superhero score, as he initially decided to retire from composing superhero movies after having worked on scores for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Wonder Woman 1984, but director Simon Kinberg, who has produced a number of big X-Men films including Logan, convinced him to work on this film.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is released in the UK on February 5th 2019, 9 days ahead of the US.
