My BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW of LEVITICUS!

Leviticus Leviticus opens with a scene that provides intrigue, as a young woman is seen going down on… the invisible man?

But then she’s brutally murdered, albeit with most of what’s happening being offscreen, and that’s the intro out of the way before the main plot, in a strange, narrow-minded community, where a Deliverance Healer (Nicholas HopePicnic At Hanging Rock) tries to cast out the devil from two gay lads, Ryan (Stacy Clausen) and Hunter (Jeremy BlewittThe Lost Flowers of Alice Hart), in some sort of conversion therapy, when really, it’s religious nutters who need that.

For another curious young man, Naim (Joe BirdTalk To Me), his mother, Arlene (Mia WasikowskaThe Devil All the Time), is less than impressed about how he also doesn’t like the company of women… and at first – wit the not-quite-clear Aussie accents – I thought he was called Nate, then also kept hearing “Name! Name!”, and wondered if they just forgot to fill in the script blanks.

However, when Ryan also sees someone invisible, it begs the questions: Who is the other person, and what do they want?

Well, we do find out in due course, but this is like a 30-minute Inside No.9 episode stretched out to almost 90 minutes and with none of the features that makes any bit of it interesting. It drags on far too long, and I can’t remember a single redeeming feature in the film.

Leviticus attempts to do for 2026 what The Entity did for 1982, but totally misses the mark, it’s a complete white elephant and one to be avoided when it finally reaches our cinemas on Sept 4th.

NOTE: There are no mid- nor post-credit scenes.

Leviticus is released in UK cinemas on September 4th, but isn’t yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD. However, once announced, it will appear on the New DVD Blu-ray 3D and 4K releases UK list.
