Mint… have you ever watched a programme and still have absolutely zero idea what’s going on, or why it was made?
Shannon (Emma Laird – 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple) is the product of crime family, where Dad Dylan (Sam Riley – Rebecca) is stepping away from the business, and for her new beau Arran (Benjamin Coyle-Larner), her Mum, Cat (Laura Fraser – Patience), thinks he’s a bad lad and she must stay away from him.
Beyond that, characters drift in and out, and like the recent Lord of The Flies adaptation, regular scenes are disrupted to the point of being incredibly arty-farty, with a score that sounds like someone’s jumping up and down on an electronic keyboard.
What on Earth was writer/director Charlotte Regan thinking?
Mint begins Monday on BBC1 at 9pm.
It’s not yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but when it is, it will be listed on the New DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and 4K releases UK page.
I expect on day one, all episodes will be on BBC iPlayer.
