This week, there are FOUR new films out for you to choose from, led by The Irishman. Here are the titles, with more info below:
Jay and Silent Bob Reboot
Charlie’s Angels 2019
The Irishman is the latest movie coming from Martin Scorsese, and this teaser gives us precious little information, which accounts for why it’s been called an ‘announcement’.
However, it brings together many of those who have worked with Scorsese in the past, as a mob hitman recalls his possible involvement with the slaying of Jimmy Hoffa, played by Al Pacino, above-left with Robert De Niro.
The Irishman technically had a limited cinema release four weeks ago, but no cinemas near me showed it, and now it’s out on Netflix, so to me, it still counts as a new release.
Screenplay: Steven Zaillian

Hit or Miss? Verdict: Hit!
Knives Out stars Chris Evans (Avengers: Endgame) as a a detective who investigates the death of a patriarch of an eccentric, combative family.
It certainly has a great cast including both Ana de Armas and Daniel Craig, who team up in 2020’s 25th James Bond movie.

Also stars: Michael Shannon, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Katherine Langford, LaKeith Stanfield, Riki Lindhome, Christopher Plummer, Don Johnson, Frank Oz
Hit or Miss? Verdict: Hit!
Jay and Silent Bob Reboot sees Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Kevin Smith) come back to the big screen as they return to Hollywood to stop a reboot of the ‘Bluntman and Chronic’ movie from getting made.
Jay and Silent Bob Reboot hasn’t yet got a release date other than ‘2019’, and there’s also an official website at jayandsilentbobreboot.co.uk.

Also stars: Chris Hemsworth, Shannon Elizabeth, Matt Damon, Joe Manganiello, Rosario Dawson, Justin Long, Joey Lauren Adams, Jason Lee, Kate Micucci, Jason Biggs, Harley Quinn Smith, James Van Der Beek, Molly Shannon, Method Man
Hit or Miss? Verdict: Maybe!
Charlie’s Angels 2019 is classed as a reboot of the 2000 action comedy which, in turn, was based on the ’70s TV series, in which a new generation of private detectives working for the mysterious Charlie…
But what’s the plot? Even after watching the trailer, I had no idea. And adding usually-the-actress Elizabeth Banks as a director makes this feel very ‘girl power’ in a bid to draw in that crowd.
I like Kristen Stewart as an actress, and a lot of her films which I’ve seen are worth watching, but I never saw the earlier Charlie’s Angels reboot films, and I have no intention to watch this. And it looks like a lot of other people have felt the same because this came out two weeks ago in the US and it’s bombed.
Also stars: Naomi Scott, Ella Balinska, Luis Gerardo Méndez, Jonathan Tucker, Noah Centineo, Sam Claflin, Djimon Hounsou, Patrick Stewart, Chris Pang, Samantha Hunter Ogan, Robert Maaser, Sarah Bennani
Hit or Miss? Verdict: Miss!
